Switzerland was hot this July.  Very hot.  We closed up the house, got into the car and drove to Lorrach Germany to meet the car train with the windows closed and the air conditioning on full blast.  The train did not have air conditioning, but did have nice big windows.  Here we are, just about to depart.

Why do I make such a big thing about the heat?  Well, when its 90+ degrees, its hard to imagine packing things like sweaters, socks, long pants and jackets.  You will see later on in the trip why this is important.  Anyway - here we are outside of Hamburg early the next morning.

Lyell and TT are the morning people.  Look at those smiles.  Mason was at least content.  He had purple.
